Event Overview

The USA Gymnastics Men’s and Women’s Development Program National Championships include competitions for Level 10 athletes for women, and Levels 8, 9 and 10 for men . A host city can anticipate a delegation size of approximately two thousand five hundred (2,500) people, which includes athletes, coaches, judges, and staff. The competition format includes two days of competition for the women and four days of competition for the men, which determines the All-Around, Individual Event, and Regional Team winners.

Athlete Apparel

Supplied by USA Gymnastics National Leotard Partner: GK Elite

  • Regional Teams: All regional team members (including ties for 7th place) and first alternates will receive a competitive leotard, as scrunchie, and a warm-up uniform from GK Elite Sportswear. Each region will provide a tank leotard for training day.
  • All-Star athletes: Each region will provide a training tank for competition.

Awards

  • Regional Teams:
    • Top 10 All-Around and individual event winners for each of the twelve (12) age divisions
    • Ties are not broken; duplicate awards are presented
    • All members of the top three (3) winning teams in each age division will receive an award. Team scores are determined by adding the top four (4) scores on each event.
    • An overall Regional Team Champion will be determined based upon the rankings of the regional teams in each age division. Points will accumulate based upon the following team placement per age division:
      1st place – 8 points 5th place – 4 points
      2nd place – 7 points 6th place – 3 points
      3rd place – 6 points 7th place – 3 points
      4th place – 5 points 8th place – 1 point
    • The top four (4) All-Around gymnasts per age division will receive a specialty award and be designated as the Development (Dev) Program National Team.
